Drew holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Drew enjoys drawing the big picture of tiny things and considers himself a researcher-turned-artist. Every project begins with a quick literature overview to assess the overall picture before developing in-depth visual research guides pertinent to the assignment at hand. Drew’s honed artistic and storytelling skills have provided him a unique perspective of molecular biology and its visual challenges.
Drew takes his past experiences in theatre, fashion and design and weaves them into each of his projects to create depictions that are visually and intellectually stunning. There’s no boring stories, just boring storytellers!
